my name is Zach and I am 18 yrs of age, my mom is writing this, since I was in a SUV rollover and ejected on 4-17-09 I was ran off the road by a drunk driver and we are having trouble proving it, the young man is threatning to kill us all and especially the boy that was in the front seat of my SUV., because he knows that the boy caused it. The boy has bragged that he has police in his back pocket and that he gets away with everything, and daddies money buys him out of trouble.  I am currently in a brain rehab in houston, Tx with brain stem injury,and have been here since 7-1-09 I am working so hard to get better, but so far, it is very slow and I seem to be getting no where. I have had surgery for a baclofen pump in, and it was working and now its not, they have to rule out different things. I can not talk, walk, eat, I can communicate very minimual. at the age of 18 I have to be bathed, wear diapers, I cant tell anyone if i am cold, hot, hurting, etc... I have had so many castings done, and MRI's, cat scans, etc... I am so ready to talk, to eat, to walk, etc... I want to be a normal 18 yr old again and go back to school, work, and especially home. My life has been turned upside down, due to the young man who was my friend ran me off the road and denies it. My mom has sold t shirts, now she is selling STAY STRONG ZACH 4-17-09 KEEP THE FAITH bracelets to help with my medical bills. I want to seek hyperbaric oxygen treatments when released from TIRR. They are in Marrero, La and the cost is out of our pocket, insurance does not cover this and I have to find a skilled nursing home there to transport me back and forth and we do not know a soul in the N. O. area. So this is why my mom is raising money to help with the expense of the treatments. She has Multiple Sclerosis and by looking at her you would not know, but the stress from my accident has caused her to miss work from the post office and without pay. She comes to see me when she can and is here now. We will spend Thanksgiving together and then she will return home to take my step dad home and then return next week to go to a appt with me to talk about extending my tendons in my ankles. They are trying to figure out why my baclofen pump is not working and are trying to rule out all medical issues. Now before my accident I was a typical 18 yr old who was enrolled in college and was on the deans list my first semester and was in my 2nd semester when this all happened. I had just started a job at home depot and was voted the friendliest cashier by customers. I had also just bought the SUV. I love to hang out with my friends at the Red River and build fires, campout, fish. the regular guy stuff. Now my life has been turned upside down. We pray for a miracle and for me to be able to go home someday to return to a normal life of some sort. The young man who caused this accident was at the river that night and made a comment overheard by two people, He told me "Man you are so spoiled, I am so jealous, you have one of the nicest vehicles, I hope you wreck that" two hours later, I am fighting for my life. I have come along way, but have a lot further to go. Please pray for me to be a miracle and that I will be the man intended me to be and to walk, talk, eat, and progress in life for God's purpose.

There is no brain rehab in North Louisiana where I had my accident so I had to come to Houston away from my family and friends, my main support system. I have very few visitors and it is very discouraging to be away from everyone. My mom is talking to a group called New Horizons in Shreveport, La and they are rallying trying to get a brain rehab there. We have one of the best head trauma unit at LSU hospital where I first went after my wreck, but from there, there is no brain rehab. My mom wants to have a motor cycle ride in my honor the first year to raise money for me for medical bills. Annual rides would benefit for a brain rehab in Shreveport, Bossier area,

Now for me the mom of Zach, I dont have a clue where to start, and need help. I have contacted the Harley Davidson here in Shreveport, and some local riding clubs, but no one seems to be intrested in helping a 18 yr old with brain stem injury, who was in a SUV rollover and I am just a normal person with no clebrity status. It seems you have to have celebrity status or be someone of greatness to get help with raising money. I know you ride and perhaps you could help me with getting a ride together, i dont have the money to start one up and need people to donate with some of the proceeds going to them and some to Zach. please let me know if you are anyone can help me out.
